So I got my VCA6-DCV out of the way and now I need to get ready for the second vPentathlon event, the VMware VCP6-DCV!
To be able to take and pass the exam I need to study hard and take the recommended VMware course (it’s actually mandatory), create a lab at home for practice, then practice, practice, practice, and take the exam.
So to prepare for all this I got the following two books :
- Mastering VMware vSphere 6 by Nick Marshall
- Storage Implementation in vSphere 5.0 (this is the book that I used for my VCP5-DCV but I need a refresher and what’s not included in the book is VVOL’s)
Also, I am planning to get an account with pluralsight (https://www.pluralsight.com/) to get some video instructions.
After I am done studying on my own I am planning to take the the VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V6] On Demand course.
As for the home lab, I am not sure what route to go yet so I will update in later post.
Timeline to get to VCP6-DCV is 90 days starting Jan 2, and I will share my notes and comments from my study in this blog.
Thank you for reading.
