Using VMware workstation:
- Microsoft Servers 2012R2 for Services (DNS , DHCP, etc…)

Backup and restore a Virtual Machine (file level restore, full VM backup):
Now that we have a backup of one of the VM lets restore
and then choose the restore options:
File level restore:
For this task i created a new backup for one of my windows VM’s. The reason for that is you will need to use the VM for the restoration of its file and you will need to use flash
the first step is to access the VM , then open a browser and navigate to your vDP appliance with the flr directory: https://192.168.30.80:8543/flr/ . Provide the VM local admin credentials and the vCenter credentials
Choose the backup you want to restore from and mount it.
Choose the files to restore and click restore selected files.
Choose the restore location and click on restore.
Configure a Backup Verification job to ensure integrity of restore points:
Automatic Backup Verification (ABV) is a scheduled or on-demand mechanism for verification of backups that ensures the integrity of restore points. The backup verification job runs on demand or as part of a schedule.
To create a back verification job click on Backup>>Backup verification >> Backup verification job action >> new
Choose your VM backup
You can choose to use the default verification which is heartbeat or use a verification script
Choose the destination host and storage
Continue with the wizard and then you can verify by choosing the job and click on verify now.
